pressure

I overheard something that I hear quite often while attending a culturally diverse university. A Indian guy was talking about how most Indian parents want their kids to be a doctor or an engineer…something that is deemed as “important” or “secure”. He mad it seem like it was less about finical security, and more about status. Their parents want to be able to tell others that ” my daughter is a doctor” or “my son is an engineer.” He went on to talk about how he had a passion to do something else to help people.
